Mother Nature Getting to Business

The last week sure has been eventful… well as far as snow goes in any case.

Aside from the events in NYC (the TGR Further Premiere and VideoGrass’s The Darkside and Enlighten), I think the most exciting news had to be the snowfall in Vermont. The seasonal shift up north has been good not only for the real stuff, but the low temps have been conducive for many of the mountains to begin snow-making.

Killington took this a step further, and “The Beast” actually opened last weekend (1 trail, 2 lifts on 10/13 and 10/14 exclusively for season pass holders). This would be one of the earliest opening days in recent history. Just to think, last year this time, Killington (along with most other Vermont mountains and towns) were still working on recovering from Hurricane Irene.

This is certainly a good omen of the winter to come…

The great news: With Mother Nature’s cooperation and 5 weeks until we OvRride “The Beast,” it’s sure to be one of the best Thanksgiving weekend trips we have ever had. I know I’ll be spending my Thanksgiving dinner giving thanks!
