New Year, New Trips!

Happy New Year!

OvRHolidaysSo how did you ring in 2012? Everyone celebrates in different ways… but for me I wanted to celebrate by doing the thing I love with people that I love. So I spent the last day of 2011 at Stratton Mountain with a group of kick ass shredders! (If you were on the bus with me… thank you for making my NYE rock!)

With a bit of fresh snow on the hill, and the annual January thaw in full effect, the conditions were actually pretty great: Soft, slick, spring mash potatoes! And those that were on the mountain on New Year’s Day at Hunter and Mount Snow were rewarded with the same conditions PLUS blue bird skies. That’s the reward you reap for making it up bright and early on New Year’s Day.

To celebrate the New Year we’re kicking off a new trip for 2012: Starting this Saturday the 7th, we’ll be going to CamelBack Mountain in the Poconos.

We chose CamelBack for a couple reasons. First it’s got a great variety of terrain, trails perfect for beginners and at the same time fun and challenging freestyle parks and pipes! CamelBack also offers night riding… so we don’t have to worry about catching last chair before the sun sets. This means we can sleep in a little in the morning, head out of the city at 10AM and take advantage of the night lights and après ski till 8PM.

If your New Year’s resolutions included getting out to the mountains more, OvRride just gave you a new excuse!
