Spring riding is officially here! With snow STILL dumping last week in Vermont (Killington got a foot by the time we got there Saturday and Sunday!) and beautiful blue skies… this is has easily been the most interesting season in a long time.
As luck would have it, Saturday Stratton got 8 inches of snow just in time for the 30th Burton US Open. The day was a combination of riding some fresh terrain and watching the Men and Women’s pipe competition (Elana Hight took the gold for the ladies and no other than Shaun White won the pipe for the men.) We’ve got to send a special thank you to Burton for making it happen and hooking up OvR with lots of giveaways and swag . Check out footage from Stratton!
There’s still some time left in the season and some great destinations you should be checking out!
St Patrick’s Day at Mount Snow! Saturday is slated to be a beautiful blue-bird day… what better way to celebrate a little green than on the hill with strategic Guinness breaks? Just for the occasion, we’ve flipped Mount Snow (usually on Sundays,) to Saturday to take advantage of the festivities that Mount Snow is famous for on St Patty’s. Don’t worry… Stratton fans you can still head to Stratton on Sunday.
Sugarbush 3– 2 peaks, lots of tree riding, soft spring conditions, pond skimming and a history of snowfall well into March… Oh and the infamous Hostel Tevere Breakfast! Time’s running out to sign up, get your deposits in ASAP before you miss out!
Breckenridge Spring Fling– You want snow? Last year we thought we were heading out for some soft Spring turns, but instead we got over 2feet of fresh snow and big powder turns. Springfest at Breckenridge transcends the weather with a weeklong schedule of live music, restaurant & bar specials.
Utah– Don’t have the vacation time to get away? Well all you need is a long weekend! Join us for a 3 day excursion to Snowbird. Get 3 days of riding at one of the best resorts in the country. Then show up at work Monday morning, like nothing happened… What goggle tan?
Jay Peak closing day– Usually open a few weeks after most resorts, Jay’s one of the East coasts best kept secrets! Last year we took a last minute trip up on their closing weekend at the end of April, and it was arguably the best riding of the year! We’ll be announcing soon enough when our Jay Peak trip will be…. Stay tuned for Last Days.
Spring is in the air… get at the soft, spring conditions!
