You are now safe to move about the mountains!!! Two Snow Fiend Missions: Accomplished
Day One and Two – Killington Mountain, Vermont.
The first two days of the OvR season have been amazing and we owe it all to the awesome energy of our early season crew. The last few Saturdays the OvR Snowbus has been packed with high spirited riders and skiers all the way from NYC to Vermont and back. Greeted with beautiful sunrises and sunny weather, the mountain proved worthy of the early up and out when we took to riding & skiing The Beast in the East around 9am.
There’s no doubt snow making technicians have been working overtime, expanding terrain, keeping up a fresh look and accumulating enough snow for a 16″base. Expanding outside of the K1 lodge on both sides of the Gondola, this past Saturday Killington doubled their terrain and trails in just over 10 days! Now with our Killington Thanksgiving Weekend just a few days away, they’ve reported efforts to double yet again and have Ramshed and Snowshed areas open their season for the holiday!!!
The mountain doubled in size from week one to week two!!!
The Views are Exceptional and really provide a BIG mountain feel!
This past week welcomed the first chairs spinning on the Superstar Express Quad. With tons of snow blowing from open to close on Skye Hawk and Skylark trails directly off of Superstar the end of the day saw about 6-8 inches of fresh snow accumulation… Pretty amazing considering the gondola was shut down for a couple hours midday.
Killington Park Crew Have Been Killing It!
Just as on it as the snow blowing technicians, we have to give HUGE shout outs to the Killington Parks Crew for their fine work in The Reason Park!!! With 8 incredibly well groomed features (including Large/small handrails and an epic pole jam that gaps over a set of stairs) they certainly hooked it up to dish out some early season smiles in the park. It’s great to know these guys are putting in work early to make sure there are plenty of options to get your JIB ON!!!
The Best Part about Snow Fiend Missions… No Lift Lines!!!
Every time you came down the hill on either side you could get right back up in an instant. Definitely nice to be the only bus on the mountain for the first two weeks, as you know how we do! Our whole crew got in multiple runs together and made it a proper OvRride Killington Experience… You might’ve thought we owned the mountain for the day!
First on the mountain and last to leave!!! You know how OvR Rolls!!!
